Our course covers everything you need to know, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), primary survey, the recovery position, and how to handle choking incidents.
This qualification is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA), an organisation recognised by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation. It sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

The qualification consists of one unit which learners must successfully complete to achieve the qualification.
Learners aged 14 or over can undertake this qualification, but they must be 16 to act as a workplace first aider. A minimum of Level 1 literacy or equivalent is recommended. Reasonable adjustments for disabilities, medical conditions, or learning needs can be made per our Reasonable Adjustments and Special Consideration policy, such as assistance with reading or writing.
The First Aid assessment is physically demanding. Learners must be able to get to the floor unaided and perform effective CPR on a manikin at floor level. If you have any concerns, please contact us before attending the course.

The qualification includes 3 guided learning hours (GLH) and 5 total qualification time (TQT). GLH refers to the hours spent under direct supervision in the classroom, while TQT includes both GLH and any independent study or task completion. The 3 hours must be classroom contact hours. A maximum of 12 learners per instructor.
The qualification is assessed through practical demonstration, without grading, the learners either pass or get referred. Real-life scenarios are used to test knowledge and skills, and learners will answer related oral questions from the trainer/assessor. Assessment is ongoing throughout the course, with clear communication on what needs to be demonstrated. Each scenario must be satisfactorily completed to pass.
The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement.
It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training
To requalify learners will need to complete the full 3-hour course again.
Learners who achieve this qualification can progress to the Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work course.
